    Your Stats

Been looking at your stats pages.

Was wondering how they're generated? SQL and PHP?
What sort of space do they take up on the server and what load do they use when making them?

And would it be cheeky to have a look over the code?

Reading Ot's stats code - that's kind of amusing.
    I tried that once.
Left me with an enormous headache.
    Don't get me wrong.
Possibly the fastest stats engine there is.
It is perfect, just kind of hard to "read"

I'm not going to spoil Ototero's fun.

Ok Drezha, you asked for it.

I use 3 Excel spreadsheets. 1 for the teams positions, 1 for non-boinc teams members and 1 for boinc team members.

Each fetches the data, parses it, homogenises it. The team position sheet also formats the complete html page. I just have to FTP it to our server.

The 2 team member sheets each create a csv file. These 2 are loaded into a program called DataEase (for Dos!!!!!). This does the crunching and complete html page creation (Active people within the last 24 hours and complete member results, both boinc and non boinc) which is 4 pages in total. These 4 pages are FTPed as well.

The DataEase phase takes about 1 minute.

    How does that all sound?

Its serves as a timely reminder to record here that Ototero's AMD Users stats pages are a fantastic resource. Whilst they are now implemented and running smoothly there was an incredible amount of time, skill, knowledge and effort expended by Ototero in getting the stats to the polished product they are now.

    Congratulations. You deserve more money!

Yes, it seems difficult to understand but it I understand it is simple for the developer. Keep up the good work Ototero!

Nah not really, it only gets tricky when that bloomin' Neogen find another project to add.

Just kiddin' Neo. Keep finding them, especially the non-boink ones .
