This is because Diamondville processors will come soldered directly onto specially designed boards.
Sounds like someone wants to move in on Via's ground.

It's interested me. Espcially as I've found my low power server isn't as low power as I would like it (30W is fine but I'd prefer lower... besides my server doesn't crunch cos it's only a 533Mhz Via chip and it's not great at it...)
