hmm, i just bought one of the last AMD Phenom 9500, since i combine it with an AM2 motherboard (AM2+ = €100 or more). Since AM2 doesn't use the L3 Cache, i took the advantage of the low prices of the B2 Phenoms, and it works really great though.

amd have not yet updated pricing page to include new phenoms
In forum where I write, there is one question.
In 9850 NB is at 2GHz, not 1.8 then all Phenom. This 200MHz +, are very good for performances.... 1-2%.
In all test in www, there is not one best power... but my be Bios not ok for B3.
I waiting 9850 for see this and I post my impression. Sure my work with WU to best![]()
The news on 9850 are very good.
Record is 3,5GHz on liquid and MB DFI.
But many > 3,2GHz with normal dissi.
One in particular is good... 3,2GHz at 1,3Vcore...
But 3/04 is end and 9850 not go to me. I'm waiting.... always.
My obiective is average 2000 with seti@home at day.
I have 9850.
Now is 3GHz and waiting WU.
Problem is bios, not support 9850.
I have 2 mainboard, one 770-DS3 and one 790X-DS4 Gigabyte.
I have Phenom in DS4, I have mount WB and next I have try... But if i change Vcore from Bios, in reality it not change.... and not possible this... Is problem of bios. I waiting Bios release F5. At Vcore def I have boot 3,2GHz, but not good stability. Now I have at 3GHz.
Next I write news.
If a board supports the 125 watt x2 6000 and 6400 wouldn't it be able to power a 125 watt quad core?
It is not a power problem, but a problem of getting the BIOS to recognize the processor. Gigabyte's website doesn't list the 9850 as being supported with the F4 bios.
