My english is little, sorry for this.
I have buy 9850 Phenom and it go to me 26/03. In italy many shop have it, but I have see in world not many.... I think date of evasion order is not true... but I hope.
I hope step B3 is very good, and I hope IPC > of 15%, because all world speack only bug 298, but 2 more bug are very disaster for performances, but no one speack of this.
Maybe I wrong to think IPC is best, but I hope.
I join in team from little time, but I hope work many wu .

from what i have been able to find out from surfing net appears start of april is when phenom B3 triple core 8450, 8650, 8750 and quad core 9550, 9650, 9750, 9850 start to shipping from amd so it will properly be another week or two before they actually make it to retailers also still no sigh of these phenoms on amd web site

in regards to TLB (errata 298) i have managed to find a benchmark for WinRAR which is the worst affected by TLB bug however it is on an engineering sample

AMD Phenom 9600 (B2 Stepping) - TLB Fix Disabled 1348 KB/s
AMD Phenom 9600 (B2 Stepping) - TLB Fix Enabled 367 KB/s
AMD Phenom B3 @ 2.3GHz 1357 KB/s

for 15 % increase in IPC i think we might have to wait till amd moves to 45 nm immersion lithography i read somewhere on amd's website they will cost 40% less to make and use 15% less power since amd like to keep TDP at certain levels they will more then like up IPC at the same time and then add ultra low K dielectric and high K gates and forth generation stained silicon this might be the time we find out why they called this cpu phenom

I have 2 platform equal.

1) GA-MA770-DS3 + 2GB ram DDR2 800 5-5-5-2T + HD3650 + 5000B.Ed. 5000+ and 650W power

2) (In wait) GA-MA770-S3 (DS3 not disponible now, but I swith with mather-bord of 5000+), + 4GB DDR2 800 4-4-4-2T and always power 650W.

I not use cross-fire, for this 770 and not 790XX.

The price is good, and I have buy all with little money.

Gigabyte 770 is ok. DS3 is differents to S3 only for all solid capacitor.
I have see for now only 2 problem. Dissipator chip-set and SB are passive, but I have buy dissipator active and wait for install.
Bios is not ok, and if I select from BIOS for active NCQ on HD (I have Barracuta 750GB NCQ), many prb of read. I hope this is prb of BIOS and not hardware.
FSB is possible overclock next to 350MHz (crash), but at 300 is ok.
Is ok to support 6400+, it is 125W TDP, is equal 9850. Only if overclock of 9850 is big I think possible have problem, but for now not one main-board is confermed from house for TDP > 125W.
Sure with mather-board possible overclock best, because quality is best, but I not think it is proportional to price.

who want, is possible see tread on Phenom. Is in italian language, but if one write in english, sure many peoples respond in english.

I have 5000+B.Ed. at 223x14,5 1,4 Vcore from bios, 1,428 releved with CPU-Z, 3,233GHz work all day, 24h to 24 and 7days on 7 days.
temperature 100% load are 42° core 0 and 36° core 1. Dissipator is one cooler master Hyper TX2, economic, 19,90€... 25$ I think.

My sistem I think is good balanced for little price and good quality/performances. Sure I lose with best sistem, but pryce high.

I have overclock 3,504GHz at 1,5Vcore, but only for picture... system crash always in 30 sec. at 1% work.

I have a similar system, but my black edition requires 1.6 volts to stay stable at 3.2 ghz doesnt want to boot 3.3
