Steve, You were in the Navy, what year was that?
Well as you know I was in both in the Army and Navy. I have a wierd memory of a very wierd encounter long ago when in the army on RR from Vietnam in Singapore!!
back in 69 i was on my second tour in country and my 1st RR the whole unit took off to Singapore, we were 7 attached to the 11th Mec Inf, close to Pleiku. I was a unit sargent in a LRRP unit. well going back to the story, we got to Singapore and most of you guys that had been in Singapore back in the 60's and 70's most remember the RED Distric and Green St. Well we all took residence in a small flea hotel in Green St. ( we din't care all we wanted to do was to get drunk and have a good time. we actually stay AWOL for 3 dsays after our return date.
well I don't remember to much about this night but some of us went to a disco and dicided that the best thing to do was to party and get laid. ( We were young and our only future was another 6mo back in country so who care.
Well in the disco at one point we pick this girls, and they were hot and sexy or at least I thought so. Well we manage to party hardy and when time came to leave we each took one girl with us. I remember the guys joking that mine was a bit tomboy. She was gorgeus, slender, long black hair, very pretty or at least that what she look with all the alcohol in our system.
Well when time came to do my thing, it turn out that she was not tomboy, but a real boy. I mean when I took a hold of her (him) and found that snake, I sober up instanlly and almost freek-out.
I was glad to return incoun try and crawl into my hole were I be safe from such girls(boys).
I tell you it was so wierd. Ha Ha Ha I can still see myself frozen in place with a dumb look in my face trying to think and assimilate what the hell was happening. I'm glad I was drunk because I could had done something bad to her(him).
Things that happen when one is young and dumb, a boy trying to be a man fighting a stupid war and getting drunk.
I don't want to offend none of you guys, but once in a while need to get things out and tell some of my experiences.
