Holy Crap Meshmar, you're gonna have to back her down a little and taunt the rest of us, we can't even see your taillights any more!![]()
I hate to say this but the server at primegrid is down again, I can't report my gazillion work units! Which means meshmar keeps leading dag nabbit!![]()
Challenge me, or correct me, but don't ask me to die quietly.

Meshmar please don't take offense to all this jabbering, its all in jest!
Lighten up, if your were not doing so good at leading, the rest of us would have no one to pick on!![]()

I'm not having much luck with the Primegrid server either, I spent two days crunching on one of those Woodall wu's, even longer waiting to validate it, estimated credit was 862, and actual credit was a big fat Zero!I don't think anybody is gonna be seeing me in their rearview mirror, I think I'm still sitting at 253 credit .
Looks like I'm gonna have to stick one foot in the carburator and push with the other to even make a showing! But this is a great race, who ever came up with the one dual core each? That really makes it interesting.

Doesnt make it too interresting some of us have limited hardware lol If i had better ram and a better mobo my overclock should be somewhere around 3.3 ghz per core but 3.0 ghz is my limit per core.
I'm not taking anything personally.
What's sad is the box I competing with is my maxed out cruncher. I've been wanting a better system, but on a fixed income upgrades or new boxes are few and far between. Maybe I'll have something to slip into that empty server case when this is over.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist".
So the take home message is - avoid those Woodall tasks.
Personally, I have found the TPS tasks are quick (sub 5 minutes) but only yield about 14-15 points per hour. The PPS_LLR tasks take a bit longer (about 5-6 minutes each) and yield about 25 points per hour. The best points however seem to come from PSP Sieve tasks (PSP_sr2sieve) which take about 55 minutes each and yield about 45 points per hour.
This was under Windows XP Pro 64bit with an Athlon64 X2 6000+ @ 3.23 GHz with 4GB DDR2 1066 Corsair dominator ram.
As always YMMV.![]()
My way of upping the output, from my point of view no less.
For every work unit I noticed that for TPS Prime Grid the work units are just 6 minutes 20 seconds long ~. To get more crunching time on the work units and not the communications between the time done and the time sent then report each unit when completed. I decided to turn off Network Activity till a gazillion of work units are finished. This allows the system to work effectively at what I am after = large deposits of completed work units. I breifly turn on the network activity selector and then upload the gazillion WU's. Once they are uploaded then I report them with the update button, as soon as the update is over I click the network activity to ssuspended once again and with that I do not download with each reporting only when I have reached my end of work units and it looks like I won't reach 24 hours in a day of crunching then I allow the work units to download over the coarse of 30 minutes or so and back off the network activity again.
Yes this is more work to accomplish the same goal and it also means someone will have to be available to nurse the system through its paces. IF you can download 2000 work units as some have told me great I am only able to download 500 per core.
The job gets down and I get to stay up in the high numbers of reported stats. So this is how I am cheating. I also uninstalled every program that is not needed in my system I am running for the project. Less trickle of access for those pesky programs the better and more time spent on crunching the work units to win that ellustrious over powered mitchellds machine.
Why did I tell you this, well I hate the idea when people wonder how someone is better then you are when they have less of a machine then you do.
May the best man win !![]()
My Liquid Nitrogen was delivered today, the cask it sits in has a fog that falls to the floor, very interesting to observe in the darkened basement dungeon I exist in. ~snicker snicker
