Christmas Quest Contest
Ladies & Gentleman,
One of our gracious Team Mates has offered this fine system below as a prize for running in this Contest…!!!! I have the system below he'd like to offer as a prize for this race:
What’s included:
Dual CPU and dual core 2216 2.4 GHz Opteron based Asus Quadfather motherboard with 4gb of DDR2 memory, and two decent after market cpu coolers. He’s been running this system for probably 2 years, and its been rock solid.
What’s not included:
A power supply,
A video card,
A CPU case.
A hard drive.
(He'll include screen shots and cpu-z screen shots of it running later)
So here's the idea in a nutshell for a short Christmas contest run for Dec 2008.
Rules to running this race!
1) Primegrid Boinc is the project of choice. You choice of OS to run, Windoze or IX.
2) Only up to (1) AMD dual core system can compete, no quads, no Intel’s, and no other cpu types, no exceptions.
3) Contest will be based on a users specific Primegrid computer id, and this computer you wish to contest with cannot be hidden by the project. It must be in full view of the Primegrid stats for everyone to see.
4) The computer id must be posted back to the contest forum when you announce your intention to compete. Only one system per user will be allowed in the contest. Overclock all you like.
5) You must have been a registered AMD user for at least one month prior to the contest start. 12/1/08.
6) The winner will have accumulated the most points on their specific previously posted computer id for the month of December, ending with the last projects posted xml output of crunch efforts. This will of course be based on your computer-id’s end total points minus your starting total, which will yield your months output.
Interested in participating please post on this thread your intentions so that Race Officials can start the due process of gathering the id's of said participants crunchers.
