AMD hits the top spot (for RAC)

It's well known that the seti apps work best on intel cpus.

However, if you have been following this thread: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum...d.php?id=48255 then you will know of an AMD machine that's been climbing up the ranks in terms of RAC.

Took a bit of doing though - 4x quad core opterons - that's going to be expensive!

yup, having twice as much cpu's as the #2 guy usually help a bunch. The same theory works for a lot of us.
