    Got me a new toy....

After years of crunching mainly with a sempron 2800+, i bought me a phenom XII 940. This schould significantly boost the daily output and let my smile more often when i watch the numbers .
may the workunits flow and science be done.....

    Hi vel!

    Congrats on the purchase.

When you get back please throw us a linky to the specs & where you purchased the monster, and tell us how the exam went

    Good luck!

I've got a new Phenom 2 940 and Asus M3A78-T mb, 2 gigs corsair dominator, Ati HD 3870, VERY happy with this set up.I've had it about 2 months and got it from Newegg.

I planted my monster on an asus croshair II formula and gave it 4 gig corsair ram (not all usable due to 32 bit limitations of my OS).
(failed to run the ram on the 1066 specification, dy to the fact that i haven´t enough time to play around with the settings)

running on the onboard grafics for the moment, but if i manage to get a job for the summer i will fill this empty PcIe Slots with some decent cuda capable devices.(doesn´t look good at the moment, but hope never dies ).

    greetings vel.

Vel...my board would blue screen with the memory set at 1066 until I looked up the memory qualification charts for the board and found they needed 2.2 volts instead of 2.1 ( stock ) volts. You can look them up at the Corsair web site.
