That is more severe than I had imagined.
I guess that the surgery is happening about now.
I hope it goes as well as possible.
Reports are that surgeons are generally much more successful at restoring severed muscular function these days. I suspect the hardest part will be in the post-operative rehabilitation therapy to get the tissue active and moving again. You are a strong minded person. You have the will to succeed. You will make it happen. I am certain of this.

Hi all, The surgery Friday a week ago went well I guess, my wife was told I cut thru all 5 tendons and a muscle, the doc worked on me for two hours. The pain is almost gone so I'm back to my normal medications... blood pressure and such. I see the doc again this Wednesday so I'll update you all again then. Thanks for the warm wishes and your prayers !

Well... I had the stitches removed Wednesday, and the scar now looks like a flat s, at the top of my forearm he cut towards my hand and at the bottom of my forearm he cut towards my elbow. I have a new cast which lets my arm breath and the 4 fingers are now exposed somewhat and I am moving them now only from the center knuckle to the tip.My thumb is still immobilized... I start physical therapy on Monday and I am doing exercises for the fingers twice a day on my own.
On a happier note I am getting good support from work and was advised by H R to say out until I'm 100% , I have both short and long term disability which pays 60% of my salary and is not taxed... however my first payment isn't until the week after next and money is already tight. I've had to cash out some stocks from a retirement plan and I won't see that until at least the middle of next week. My wife works as a Beautician but living in a small town as we do she does not make but so much.
This is what the scar looked like before the stitches were removed. Thanks to all who wished me well, it all helps !!
