    Bang Crash Poof its gone

I have hijacked someone's Intel powered i7. Its nice but I am truly more interested in the AMD model that puts this baby to shame. Temporarily speaking this will make some stats rise and allow me to check out some cuda projects I wanted to run but could not.

I really like the 6 core series... I have read thoroughly the specs and I am impressed. I hope this series can compete against the i7 series. Mitchell your comments please?

    Greetings Nflight,

    8435 AMD
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103691
    $2,659.99

    I7 870 Lynnfield 4 core

    550.00

Lets compare value returned to the consumer (us) for money spent.

For the same money buying the intels, if you really want to spend that much on this AMD cpu. Of course the below only speaks to cpu's.

20 cores for intel at 2750.00, 6 cores for amd at 2660.00

I know what I wouldn't buy right now, its not price competitive. Save your money and buy GPU's. More bang for the buck these days. I'm even selling my second PS3 now. I'm keeping one for the Blueray player(which is awesome of course). Technology has moved on.

Guess what after almost two months I am back to full strength, both machines are in working order and I feel much better. Not having two has made me far behind everyone else these past few months!

I hijacked that i7 for the next couple of days, lets see if I can catch up just a little! AMDave I hope you don;t mind but I am thinking about stretching my goals just a weee bit!
