I thought i saw them shortly after the launch date. I guess I should have mentioned that was a while back. I haven't seen any lately. I didn't see any at bestbuy today either.

They don't have them in stock yet, But this place has an expected ship date of Oct. 27, and is $30 cheaper than newegg http://www.antaresdigital.com/custom...cat=518&page=1

TSMC has a damn low yield-rate again. Something about 40%. So don't wonder if the cards are not available.

Are there already boinc-benchmarks with the fancy 5000-series?

i've got this thread on anandtech's board:

    http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=326145

(and yes, you should leave the post there so that i can get closer to a "most read" post on their boards... after all, it's all about post quality, not quantity ;) (and yes, i guess that would make this post suck ;)

that's how it seemed to be... there was a lull when there were quite a few in stock...

what is the last run trying to solve? So they still have some unsolved original nazi messages? how long do they quess-timate the last run to go for?

As a side note, a couple of years ago, I saw one of the original enigma machines being sold on ebay. (actually, there is one there now http://cgi.ebay.com/WWII-GERMAN-LUFT...item2303aff11d)

Would have been cool to own a piece of history like that. It has been estimated that 100,000 Enigma machines were constructed

    more info if interested:

all i have is copy pasta: "Enigma@Home is a wrapper between BOINC and Stefan Krah's M4 Project. The M4 Project is an effort to break 3 original Enigma messages with the help of distributed computing. The signals were intercepted in the North Atlantic in 1942 and are believed to be unbroken."

i'm not sure if we're in the last days of the last message or last "keyspace" or something

edit: maybe see last post: http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/...m/850003558931

    http://www.enigmaathome.net/forum_thread.php?id=86

    does that help? ;)
