Some points that work against this chip.

* Intel calls its new 48-core IA32 processor a "single-chip cloud computer" (SCC) because [...]

* [...] was built on Intel's current 45nm high-K metal gate process.

* Although the hardware is impressive, it is the software that will determine how well the SCC works.[...]

This looks like a Larrabee for Datacenters. If it's a working chip and if Intel give it away in a half year to some devs then AMD has a big problem.
