We have a good number of projects that have been losing popularity (mostly because they are non-boinc), so I decided to show one each week, and hopefully try to bring more people into it.
So the underdog of the week for this week is Seventeen or Bust. There are currently only 4 people running this project for the AMD Users Team.
- What is Seventeen Or Bust?
Seventeen or Bust is a (non-BOINC) distributed computing project with the goal of proving that 78,557 is the lowest Sierpinski Number. In essence it's a prime finding project, to prove that there are 17 primes in a specified range. 11 of those primes have already been found, so only 6 are left.
- How do I run Seventeen Or Bust?
Seventeen Or Bust is not a BOINC project, and uses mainly a modified version of the Prime95 application for executing LLR tests. But before jumping into that, make sure you have an account on the project, if you don't then sign up here:

- Does this project support my OS/CPU?
There are clients for Windows (32 & 64bits), Linux (32 & 64bits), Mac OS X (32 & 64bits) and FreeBSD. That should cover 99.99% of the people out there. The system requirements are very low, about 512Mb of RAM and 20Mb of hard drive space. Multicore processors are supported so you can run as many tasks as you got cores on the processor if you want. The more cores you run the higher your chances of finding a prime!
