HP is about to roll out the Opteron 6100 based servers. It seems there has been much expectation for it. One thing I didn't know until I read this was that the Opteron 6100's on-chip memory controller can only address 128GB max, so for a 4-socket system the maximum is 512Gb of RAM.

I can only imagine the things I could do with one of these rigs...
