The linux AMD64 arch install looks to be a challenge, but I run QEMU/KVM on my linux boxen and have a lot running on them atm.
I'm downloading the VBox 4.1.x version to my Win7 laptop where I can give it a go in the short term.
Hope I get it done before the door closes.

At 1.5 hours the unit is at 7% and the estimate is now 133 hours.
The VM is a CERN developed linux based on the 2.6 kernel with no GUI, initially set at 256MB RAM but may use up to 512MB RAM and should have about 9GB disk space available.
VBox reminder - if you click inside the text window it will capture your mouse. Hit the right-hand-side CTRL button on your keyboard to release it again. That is the default "Host Key" in VBox.
