    FreeHal is back online

Just received new FreeHall WUs! (after some months of silence due to the end exam of the volunteer at the other side of things)

I saw that too last night.
But I think it's not fully operational yet.
Before going to bed I checked boinc again and it wasn't uploading the finished WU... tried opening the website but it timed out.
I am guessing the project received a surge of thousands of people the moment it came back online again and it crashed it... lol

Oh yes they are up! And me too in the rankings, 20 places yesterday and already 40 today. And that at no effort, as it is nci (non CPU intensive).

Need to re-affirm your settings in case you want a WU per core

I also had to remove the project and add it again. I was having constant download failures when trying to get work. Even after resetting the project it kept doing it, but after completely removing and adding again it downloaded ok.

Thanks for the tip Dirk. I wonder why Tobias wiped the previous settings?

I'm afraid Tobias had to re-start from scratch. His old servers are still at the German Police.

If anyone can read/write German could they visit one of the sites (fora) discussing the FreeHal project - either Seti Germany or Planet 3dNow to ask why the Freehal tasks have increased in length from 3 hours to more than 6 hours and in some cases 14 hours please?

I have tried joining these fora but the annoying anti-spam feature known as Captcha insists I get the two words incorrect every time I attempt to register. I have tried 30-40 times and have given up in frustration; why Capcha is so hard to read is beyond me. That and struggling with fora based in the german language. I tried Opera Translate but it doesn't translate the entire page so its all a bit much.

I'd also like to know what happened to the project Donations page as I contributed an entire months hosting fee to FreeHal 70 Euros and there appears to be no acknowledgement of this.
