    jlanger 17 scores :?

looking at your scores for evrything you do it seems you get a minus pretty soon after negating much of the work done http://marcc.no-ip.org/SoB/User.php?User_ID=5480 .

was just posting to bring this to your attention so you can fix / solve problems and keep doing 1 number rather than changing and then recieving a minus as it was not completed.

    Musing

Something I've found useful with SOB is to start a task, record the k / n combination, complete a couple of intermediate results and let it send them (check mark against send intermediate results in configuration) then stop. Reboot pc and check it restarts the same k / n combo. Let it complete at least one intermediate result. Stop reboot and continue. Now if you wish you can go to config and uncheck the send intermediate results flag and let it run until it completes the Proth test and is ready to report.
If SOB messes up and gets a new k / n pair then follow the steps from the SOB official forum to "Recover a lost Proth test". Warning: involves a Registry edit.

    [rant on/]
For some unknown reason the authors of the SOB application STILL haven't fixed this insidious bug that has been around since the project started. It wasn't too important when SOB tasks only took a couple of days to complete. Now that they take several days on a medium to fast P4 and about a week on a fast Athlon XP its high time the programmers fixed it so is doesn't happen. [rant off/]

yep, you would have thought something would have been done to correct it by now. it is very annoying when you drop a unit and recieve a large minus score, but with the SOB registary tool it is very easy to change the number.

I seem to have a 30 M cEMs spike today and I can't explain it except for the possibility that someone else may have registered work against my UID.

The only machine that I have the SoB client running on was pottering along at about 650 K cEMs, but it has just completed a proth test and now there is a spike. It is running the latest client though.

I will be able to check the n and k details in about 10 hours time and then I'll have more info.

    So what caused the spike????

Click on my signature and check out the spike there. It only went to about 8M but it didn't go away and it gave me credit for that work. I'd like to have 24 hours at that rate....

cant say i have found the graphs to be particually accurate, check TPR's web site for more accurate scores and see if it still occurs there.
example: if you check my last few hours output it has been 0 yet SOB official website says for past 24 hours i have had 400k produciton constantly
