I have actualized my overview of the best Radeon cards on the BOINC wiki Included now is the Radeon 7000 series and a new sub-chapter about the Fusion platform.

That is a very helpful link there Dirk, Thanks for sharing!
Challenge me, or correct me, but don't ask me to die quietly.

Great job to keep adding to and updating that page over the last 9 months, Dirk.
A great display of initiative and dedication.
My GPUs don't make the list.
I just checked through the page history and they never did make the list.
This must be a good year to upgrade ... to something you have identified there :D

I got nothing on that list either... like Dave says, maybe 2012 is a good year to upgrade.![]()

I can also make a list that focuses more on the economy of crunching, and sort on GFLOP/TDP in watt
My own HD 4770 then suddenly sees the top-20, and my HD 6670 runs even cheaper than the HD 4770
-but is incapable of Double Precision.
More incredibely is that the high-end cards appear to have have a very good GFLOP/Watt value.
(but the wattage needed might drive you insane -and the power company happy- on a yearly basis)
BTW: The all-new HD 7750 is the new king of budget crunching, and the HD 7770 costs slightly more
to operate 24/7, but packs more of a punch performance-wise. Together with the venerable HD 4770
they are the only cards in the top-20 that will operate below 100 watt and still deliver both single and
double precision capability.
If we stick to single precision, the Llano platform -and especially in combo with a HD 6670- is the stellar performer.
Trinity will be even better....

And I did it aigain. Included now are all -known to me- new projects with a Ati/AMD application.
I have also lowered the DP value of the HD 7870 and HD 7850 cards, as they only offer Double Precision at 1/16 of the Single Precision, instead of at 1/4 as I earlier thought. The values for HD 7950 and 7970 remain unaffected.
You can accuse me of being an AMD fanboy, but these are the figures (estimating the tdp of the DDR3 HD 6670 at 50 Watt, but it may actually be even lower):
- HD 6570 (DDR3) combined with a A8-3800 or A8-3820
1104 GFLOP SP for 44 Watt tdp of the GPU = 25.09 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 65 Watt, but we normally do not consider the power use of the CPU in comparisons of video cards)- HD 6570 (DDR3) combined with a A8-3870K or A8-3850
1104 GFLOP SP for 44 Watt tdp of the GPU = 25.09 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 100 Watt)- HD 6670 (DDR3) combined with a A8-3800 or A8-3820
1248 GFLOP SP for 50 Watt tpd of the GPU = 24.96 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 65 Watt)- HD 6670 (DDR3) combined with a A8-3870K or A8-3850
1248 GFLOP SP for 50 Watt tpd of the GPU = 24.96 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 100 Watt)- HD 6670 (DDR3) combined with a A6-3500 or A6-3600
1052 GFLOP SP for 50 Watt tdp of the GPU = 21.04 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 65 Watt)- HD 6670 (DDR3) combined with a A6-3650 or A6-3670K
1052 GFLOP SP for 50 Watt tdp of the GPU = 21.04 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 100 Watt)- HD 6570 (DDR3) combined with a A6-3500 or A6-3600
908 GFLOP SP for 44 watt tdp of the GPU = 20.64 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 65 Watt)- HD 6570 (DDR3) combined with a A6-3650 or A6-3670K
908 GFLOP SP for 44 watt tdp of the GPU = 20.64 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 100 Watt)- HD 6670 (DDR5) combined with a A8-3800 or A8-3820
1248 GFLOP SP for 66 Watt tdp of the GPU = 18.91 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 65 Watt)- HD 6670 (DDR5) combined with a A8-3870K or A8-3850
1248 GFLOP SP for 66 Watt tdp of the GPU = 18.91 GFLOP SP/Watt tdp (while the CPU of the combination has a tdp of 100 Watt)
