    AMD Game News: Nexuiz

    >> Now Available on Steam! For centuries the Kavussari and the Forsellians have waged war. They have a fragile truce but due to their seething disgust of each other they still pit their warriors against each other in arenas rather than on the fields of war. Those episodes of lethal combat are now broadcast throughout [...]

I like this game. Have done for years. My son likes it even more.
He runs rings around me and shoots me in the back accompanied by a now irritatingly infamous "HAAA HA!"
Fortunately re-spawn is fast and I know where he was on the map when I got dusted. BLAM! Payback is swift.

Isn't it a sign that you're getting old when your kids beat you on videogames?

No it's not, especially not when they practice the game for hours while you don't.
Besides that, I can kick my son all over the board when playing an old-fashioned wargame using a board!
I can win France 1940 in the historical scenario, playing the allies!

I am an old fart and I beat all the young bucks in my games, when I touch their games I lose in a drastic way. I think it must depend on the type of game played.

Challenge me, or correct me, but don't ask me to die quietly.

Game skill is all just a matter of training, training, training and honing your skill level.
Games that have a lot in common with ones that you have already mastered are easy to learn.
My son wins all Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Nintendo64 games from me plus C&Q related games,
but he gets shot to pieces in Close Combat-like games and swept of the board in Avalon Hill games

YES. And I have the grey hairs to prove it. hahaha
On the other hand they now think you are being a BAD SPORT when you send them to bed at dark-o-clock.
You don't win when you win, and you still don't win when you lose.
    Sigh.
But I'm still the parent and all players are dead when I turn the internet off :P
    NOW GO TO BED!
