    May competitions

Queen's day today in the Netherlands, but before I go to the free market
and score some 2nd hand computer junk, I'd like to bring you this:

May 1 to May 8 - The May 2012 SIMAP scramble
Team BOINCstats have their monthly simap challenge. I'll try to hit the 500,000 barrier before Bender10 does.

May 1 to May 8 - WorldCommunity Rush
Seti@Netherlands has organised a World Community Grid challenge in the exact same time frame as BOINCstats have their Simap challenge.
Some coordination, especially when you realize that both organisers are located in the Netherlands...
I'll try to make a bronze badge silver, and two silver badges gold.

    May 5 to May 18 - 3rd BOINC Pentathlon
Seti.Germany has the yearly Pentathlon, the only challenge with the name of an AMD CPU hidden in it.
We start with Rosetta from May 5 to May 10, so start bunkering

Thanks for the challenge update Dirk! Too bad the Simap Scramble starts 18 hours (0600 UTC) AFTER the Wu's are available...

And yes, you should hit 500k before me...

Great post Dirk, as always you're on top of the challenges.

I did get curious about the first couple of lines of your post, can you describe what is the Queen's day tradition?

As usual Google is your best friend in these cases.
Why trying to explain what has been done so eloquently before?

Interesting "read". I remember reading in the media here when that automobile was driven into the crowd during the celebration. At the time I didn't know what the occasion was that was being celebrated at the time of the tragedy's occurance.

So there is a free-for-all once a year sale day when people can sell stuff without need for permit and without taxes. There should be more days like that.
The tragedy though will be a hard thing to forget... I didn't see it but I can only imagine the horror...

    I second that!
Dirk took what I had last year and raised the bar even higher!
