1. RNA World Workshop successful
Now that the 1st RNA World Workshop is over, I thought it might be nice to drop a brief note on what we have achieved. In short, enjoying a wonderful relaxing work environment, we managed to install Linux on the BeagleBoard-xM which harbors an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU and we successfully compiled and tested the RNA World science applications on that system. Moreover, we now also have a client for the ARM Cortex-A9 CPU which is found in some of the latest tablet and smartphone hardware. The test results obtained so far are encouraging us to further follow up the idea of making RNA World universally available on ARM-based hardware.
