    Yes,

We need hardware, and we CAN click on 'Affiliates', but it would help if a page visit on any page could automatically generate money.
Perhaps the affiliates could be asked whether they would want a small banner on a page which can be clicked.
BOINCStats has banners, FreeDC even has banners aimed at me specifically -In Dutch, for Dutch shops- so why can't we?

It's not FreeDC itself that puts dutch banners, but the advertising companies they use that catch your IP address and geolocate it to provide you banners in your language and products closer to you. It's all in aiming the product to the person.

We do have an always present Amazon banner on the top section of the forums here, but I don't know how it works in terms of generating revenue.

The Amazon banner generates very little revenue. I think we have like 5-6 dollars in that account and it can't be withdrawn until we reach 50, I think. Advertising on a site like this is hard...

So Jeff, are we covered at least until 2015? Assuming the world doesn't end this year.

By the way, don't we have to renew with vBulletin too every so often? Lets make sure we got all bases covered.

Thanks Dave!! We are renewed for 40 months!

I believe we own a lifetime licence for vBulletin. If my memory serves correctly, when we upgraded to the vBulletin Publishing Suite, we purchased the lifetime license. I think this was in 2010

Thanks again everyone - we should have all of our bases covered for at least 2015.

Yep - we have the lifetime license for vBulletin v4. When v5 comes out, if we decide to purchase, we'll have to buy another license.

As long as they keep supporting and doing security patches for v4 we should be good. Maybe around 2015 we will think about upgrading it? lol
