    November Competitions

Nowadays competitions do not really bother with months, so we have two that already started in October and will continue into November:

    October 29 to November 05 - Happy "baker's dozen"
Russia Team organises another SAT challenge. A "baker's dozen" is thirteen, so at the end of the year the baker will get 13 month's wages -just kidding: When you order a dozen of something from a baker he traditionally gives 13, afraid of being caugght as giving not enough. In the past they had severe food laws and bakers were obliged to give you at least the exact amount. Hopefully the same with credits here. 190 participants from 16 teams now and we have at the moment four members active for this project -and even six, if you stretch the time frame to a month-. At the moment Vaughan is the best scoring team member at #17, followed by Dirk Broer at #47, Kle at #51 and Stefan at #130. I hope recently active Veulo and LeonardoXIV will also join, and there's some 11 other members with points for this project. We're back defending a 17th world position at the moment, having passed the Electronic Sports League (ESL) again.

October 31 to November 07 - Race to the End of the World as we know it
Team Southeastern United States has organized a Cosmology@Home challenge, inspired by the Mayan calendar.
At the moment there are eight of the nine teams with points, spread over 69 participants. Our highest scoring member here is DMMc at #11, followed by Joffymartin72 at #30, MlaFerriere at #47, Kevin Gallagher at #51 and Chewy at #53. Velociraptor01 should have been included here as well, according to his FreeDC score of 420 credits.

November 01 to November 08 - SIMAP November 2012 Scramble
The traditional month opener, organized by BOINCStats. Plenty of work is promised.

November 12 to November 19 - Pulsar Rampage
Team DC Russian Union has organized an Einstein@Home challenge. Who'll find the first Pulsar in this challenge?

Nice... a new month begins and time to set the engines running again for the next race!

I am still crunching on OProject@Home... I was just trying to give vaughan a run for his money but these error rates are driving me nuts. And the number of times I got home from work and found my machines just idling because of app crashes is also not making me happy at all. At least that hasn't been happening much lately but for a while I had several days in a row with almost no productivity because of that.
