I love the idea of a RAM disk, but I'm not sure where is AMD going with this. RAM disks have been around for ages, and as incredible as the read/write speeds are, the fact is it's very limited in capacity and still somewhat expensive. And the most critical factor, even though the software saves the contents upon shutdown and loads them on startup, it will lose everything you did if you have a windows crash.

I would like to see AMD integrating this idea with something else though... imagine for example the software being integrated with the catalyst control center, and instead of being yet another extra drive it be an invisible cache drive specific to games? The CCC can identify games as they are played, so why not have a super fast kind of smart cache always running and picking up on the games you play that would cut those game loading times to zero? Yes, SSDs are very fast these days but RAM still runs laps around SSDs, and even SSD raid arrays.

Well... that's just one idea. I'm sure there are many others out there. But really AMD? Another RAM Disk? It's a bit superfluous these days.

Very limited in capacity....the largest AMD RAMdisk is a whopping 64 Gb!
Only problem is that it comes out of your RAM, so you need to have more than 64 Gb installed to make such a thing possible....
On most (99.99%) consumer mobo's an absolute impossibility.
