Comparison: Best of Platform shoot-out
On demand: a side-by-side comparison of the best/most expensive the various platforms have to offer -provided WuProp has acumulated stats the model-, scored on BOINC performance.
Finally an answer(?) as to the question whether you should upgrade and, if so, to what platform.
I give you the best of sockets AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1 and FM2 versus the best of sockets 1156, 1366, 1155 and 2011. If you cannot read the table that follows, get a bigger monitor!
I finally sacked my Iiyama Vision Master Pro 410 for an Acer AL2016W. Even with irritating vertical red stripe (no permanent beer commercial for Red Stripe Lager, just some defect) a much better experience.
Values given here are the theoretical maximum values you might expect per CPU per day, based upon the WuProp values per core per day. When no such value was obtainable, I picked the next best model when possible.
Your own mileage may vary.

Those of us (well, not us here) with socket 1366 mobo's and fat CPUs do not need to worry yet about upgrading....or may want to invest in the equally expensive socket 2011, and hope the values I found for Einstein are true. For the projects above there is no real big need to change platform, or you must have money to burn. And nobody is buying any new AM2+ or socket 1156 systems anyway.
Do not be deceived by the Einstein and Seti scores of the FM1 and FM2 platform: These scores are for the CPU part only. Real productivity figures for Llano's and Trinity's will include their GPU scores. Unfortunately I can not find these GPU models in the WuProp database. Boinc sees my 3870K system as having two HD6xxx Turks GPUs, being the ASUS HD 6670 and the HD 6550D.
My other Llano has for the time a GT 630 living with it -replacement for the dead MSI HD 6670-, giving a most interesting GPU-Z score for its HD 6530, including both PhysX and Direct Compute, features the HD 6550D -when coupled with a HD 6670- lacks.

At 3840 x 1080 its ok
At 4 x 3840 x 1080 its a bit small

Multi-desktops on multi-wide-screens :D
back to the table... my 1055Ts don't rate anymore
I'll have to save up for an upgrade again.

At 1680 x 1050 it almost screenfilling...
These should be your theoretical scores per core per day for the 1055T, according to WuProp (Multiply these with six for the theoretical maximum score per cpu per day).
Ignore scores such as with POGS, OProject-ALX and Collatz: These will probably be an error in the WuProp stats database, otherwise everybody would now be doing POGS.....

If you have the low wattage 1055t it should be a good performer per watt

I was scrolling through my web links and I found an upgraded site from Flickr. Now this is not my office but I certainly wish it was! WoW
P.S. Start scrolling down you will drop your JAW like I did!
