    March 2013 Competitions

Just as last year, there's competitions that are almost at the end when the month only just begins.
Which are the carry-overs this month?

    February 24 to March 03 - Flying Dutchman@MilkyWay2013
I see them -Flying Dutchmen- all day, when they come over our house on the way to landing at Schiphol airport, but Piratenpartei Deutschland has organised a challenge for it.
Chris, at #11, was our highest scoring member amongst 801 participants from 16 teams

February 26 to March 03 - The flame still burns! (It's not what you say, it's what you crunch)
Yet another pile of enigma-coded messages to decipher! If they are still there when this challenge starts....I've started in a most ferocious way, with a flying start from a few days before the actual challenge, leaping from 14 to 6 in the team stats during the proces. 241 participants from 9 teams active here.

March 01 to March 04 - Crunch with the best, or lunch with the rest ! [Season 1 - Episode 3-12 : Mars Attacks !]
Third edition of Brigade du Cosmos' monthly challenge with the hope that extraterrestrial intelligences which we shall have to deal with will not be as nasty as that of Tim Burton !
A whopping 2227 participants from 12 teams with Cov_Route making it all the way to #56 as our best scoring member. As team we ended in the top-10, not always easy with Seti.

March 01 to March 08 - SIMAP March 2013 Scramble
The most constant factor in the challenge series. We have over the years accumulated a total of 137 members with a score, some 11 of which are quite active now between the 387 participants from 15 teams, giving the team a 7th place in the process.

    March 08 to March 09 - [Twenty Four 004] Woman's Day Crunch
Brigade du Cosmos with yet another Seti challenge: This fourth edition is dedicated to all women of the world, past and present, who have fought for their rights in any legitimacy.
No doubt the number of participants will be close to 2000, Seti remains the most popular project in the challnge series.

March 09 to March 14 - Breaking Dawn
Something new, something fresh: a challenge from Team IBM for Gerasim@Home. A mere 13 members were active once, your chance to end up in the team's top-10 is now!

March 13 to March 20 - Spring 2013 POEM Challenge
Spring is in the air (on the Northern hemisphere at least) and Team Russia wants us to celebrate it with POEM@Home.
It should be possible to break the 100,000,000 barrier as a team here, I will race with B Johansson to see who of us will reach the 10,000,000 first.

March 14 to March 15 - [Twenty Four 005] Albert Einstein Crunch
Who says BDC only does Seti? This fifth edition pays tribute to the father of the theory of relativity to whom the world of physics owes so much. Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879.
If it would it be possible to mobilize all of the 530 team members with a score for this project, we would end in the top.

March 20 to March 22 - March Equinox
Another Russian team wants us to celebrate spring, this time it is Astronomy.Ru Forum and they have chosen theSkyNet POGS, a nicely paying project with only nine members active at the moment.

    March 22 to March 29 - SLinCA@Home challenge 2
Team Colombia has organised th second SLinCA challenge. This project at this moment has a mere 8 team members, so another chance to end up in the team's top-10 in a project here.

Well that's it for the March challenges.
There don't appear to be any carry-overs.
    We didn't do badly.
POEM and SlinCA were particularly rough given that the work queue was so limited, although POEM ended up well.
I wonder what April has in store.

I couldn't get SLinCA into gear until after the challenge...
