Whith a power draw like the HD 7990 or HD 6990 it really pays (pun intended) to have your own solar cells supply you the needed energy...
But it only needs to run a few hours a day to bring big credits for whatever project the HD 7990 can be used for.

Can't find them here in Euros, $1695 is the lowest price I found, meant for the Dutch market (nl in the url)

Edit: I thought you meant those Xeon Phi's, HD 7990s are a lot cheaper: The Club3D Radeon HD 7990 -Dutch brand- goes for as little as € 469,- with Alternate, the most expensive is the Asus Radeon HD 7990 6GB, which can't be bought cheaper than € 794,50 (at SiComputers), but some shops charge up to € 100,00 more.

    450 WATTS FULL LOAD EEEEEKKKK
If I add a couple of those to what I already run I might be able to brown out Barkley Dam at last. But then Kentucky Dam would just kick in.

You don't need more watt-eaters: you just passed me in a giant 2million credit step! (helped a tiny bit by the fact that my new HD 7790 would not crunch under Linux, it will now go in my A8-3820 Win8 box.
Have to re-install the FGLRX drivers in the Trinity machine anyway, the combination A10-5700 plus HD 7790 would not crunch at all! Hope the HD 7750 will do better with the A10...the A10's CPU part runs quite good).

P.S. Terry: Your Collatz and Enigma scores appear under a different Cross Project Identifier: c6135e78bda90377e8fad72d726607aa at FreeDC all of a sudden.

Collatz is still on the stats above but no Enigma. Oh well I have points scattered all over so no big deal, just points.

Managed to get the IGP working earlier today and -when I exchanged the HD 7790 for a HD 7750- the latter began working as well.
Now for the HD 7790 to start working in my Win8 Llano box, and we'll see some serious Collatz crunching the next hours. That 2nd 50 Million Mega Milestone is mine!

P.S. It wouldn't work there either. Guess I have to buy myself an FX system to enjoy the power of my new HD 7790 as it's drivers clash with both Llano and Trinity...

And again. Don't know what you did, but Collatz changed Id (pun intended).
My guess is that you updated your Collatz scores on the machine that runs Enigma. On that machine you seem to have cpid=c6135e78bda90377e8fad72d726607aa instead of 9d4de930a6de730659b3ac41a4bb49e1

Always fun to get a new machine but FX? It will be at least the next generation before I have another AMD. After this I7 I am kind of spoiled. Just to get Ryan's FX-8350 close to keeping up to my I7 ( almost identical price if you count the water cooler ) we had to water cool it and OC the heck out of it and it's still a sad second.

It's either an FX or a FM2 Athlon II X4...but as the first FM2+ boards are hitting the market here -at far lower prices than I had expected-
the latter might be a good stop-gap solution, I can always drop in a Kaveri later and hope that it will cooperate with the HD 7790....
I can buy an Athlon II X4 740 from the same guy that sold me the A10-5700, or experiment for the time being with disabling the A10's HD7660D.

Main disadvantage of an FX is the price of the mobos -as compared to FM2 or FM2+ mobos that is. The FX 6300 is cheaper than the Richland A10s and about the same price as the Trinity A10s!
And a good AM3+ mobo is hard to find these days, as most shops have no stock of them anymore. But there's always the webshops that promise to deliver them within a week...
