It's either an FX or a FM2 Athlon II X4...but as the first FM2+ boards are hitting the market here -at far lower prices than I had expected-
the latter might be a good stop-gap solution, I can always drop in a Kaveri later and hope that it will cooperate with the HD 7790....
I can buy an Athlon II X4 740 from the same guy that sold me the A10-5700, or experiment for the time being with disabling the A10's HD7660D.

Main disadvantage of an FX is the price of the mobos -as compared to FM2 or FM2+ mobos that is. The FX 6300 is cheaper than the Richland A10s and about the same price as the Trinity A10s!
And a good AM3+ mobo is hard to find these days, as most shops have no stock of them anymore. But there's always the webshops that promise to deliver them within a week...
