    The Benchmark Thread! (Contributions Welcomed)

after seeing a new FFXIV benchmark posted, i thought “why isn’t there a decent list anywhere of benchmarks?” ...so i decided to try compiling this...

skip to the pretty, recent stuff!

obv it’s a work in progress at the moment.

    abbreviation notes:
    pouet: demoscene site
guru3d: site with a fair amount of 3d benchmarks and other apps. spammy, however
mega: megaupload 2.0. least spammy file locker, but i’m not sure what all info their browser app collects.
file handling (for safety reasons): chromium on ubuntu -> linux-dedicated drive -> mega

    Historical!

if anyone can think of a way to make the table prettier, i'm open to suggestions!

my yardstick for older demos in this category is “does it look as good as or better than games that came out in 2012/2013?”

You can make the table a tiny bit prettier by giving the first line 'th' instead or 'tr'. This will make the first line (the table headers) bold.

tried it ... it ended up hiding that row. if i did th + tr in the same row, it at least showed up (but still looked the same)

    TEXT YET MORE TEXT
    data a
    yet more data
    data b
    still more data

    Code:
table="width: 500, class: outer_border, align: left" (but then with [ and ] surrounding it)
font=arial (but then with [ and ] surrounding it)
    [tr]
    	[th]TEXT[/th]
            [th]YET MORE TEXT[/th]
    [/tr]
    [tr]
    	[td]data a[/td]
    	[td]yet more data[/td]
    [/tr]
    [tr]
    	[td]data b[/td]
    	[td]still more data[/td]
    [/tr]
    [/font]
    [/table]
the th centers the text and puts faint lines between the columns
use center and /center (but then with [ and ] surrounding it) to center text in cells

More fancy stuff (might not always work)

Oh, I didn't mean that. I meant over the years I've kept a copy of it, as computers came and gone, and 16 years later and on my most recent machine with Windows 7 Final Reality still runs.

5 or so more added. and i WILL be fixing screenshots, i swear! (i have most of the added benches (ffxiv: heavensward, stormblood, superposition, mh:o, elemental, pso2) screenshotted)

edit: also, Futuremark themselves handed out serials for their legacy benchmarks! (futuremark.com/benchmarks/legacy) serials added to the Notes section of appropriate benches.
