Even at 25 I'd still have idle time, might work ok for an Opteron though, LOL. 8O I dont run this enough to know for sure,so screw it i just went back to the default 50.

The "50" or set it to "2000" just means howmany work units you download to your pc. It will still upload every 6 hours. I have 2 pcs I can't keep connected to the internet at work, so I set the # to 1,000 so it will crunch for at least a week then I connect it to the internet and do a force dump at that time, then reload cache disconnect and wait till next week. If your oc is connected all of the time the only advantage to having a bigger # is in case TSC's site goes down you can keep crunching till it comes back up.

I went with 10 because i thought it would upload when the cache was empty, this way i could upload and monitor progress on an hourly basis, but that wasnt the case, so what was happening, Id finish the wu's in an hour or so then theyd sit for 5 idle. Oh well back on track now, but lost alot of time today.

Anytime you want to upload, just right click on the task bar icon and go to status. Once loads just click on Manual Update" and it will send all then. Can do as much as you want.

I d/l 50 or so on the laptop so I can crunch them when I'm out on the road. When I get back to base I can up load them and get some more food for next trip.

He he he, yes, i sure did, infact, i'm already running TSC! He he he, maybe over the weekend installing Mandrake Beta 2 AMD64, then i can run in 64-bit mode, and tomorrow i am tweaking bios setting ect. I've already got my processor temporarily overclocked while i'm in windows from 1400 to 1540MHZ!! It did it automatically with the CoreCenter Pro, plan on trying it from BIOS for more permanent one... Mmmmm, lots o faster than my k6-2(500MHZ), already done 5 packets in less than 2 hourse!,the old PC took a WHOLE DAY, this machine kicks some seriouse a**!!!

changing to 64 bit os isn't going to help in any dc project. I would wait until until mandrake is aleast to beta 3 even better would be rc1 or 2. another option would be suse the first demo of opterons was with suse64 so they are way ahead of everyone else. Gimps uses sse2 I would be curous to see how well opteron does against a pentium4

Hi, I have just switched to TSC to get the team up a bit.
Have been on D2OL for a while, glad to see we have moved up to 19.
I will get a 2nd node up and running later today.
Main node is 2500+ barton, second will be 1000 athlon (trusty workhorse).

    Glad to be on-board.
