Sorry for your loss BlackAdder. This touches many hearts every day. Whilst research goes on, it seems so slowly, over time progress has been made. But it is slow and that is where distributed computing does help.

Of the cancer related projects I put most stead in FAD.

The Find a Drug project is doing current research
http://www.find-a-drug.biz/cancer-frame.html

They use the THINK engine which is behind some of the other more fancy lookin' GUIs run by some other projects. These guys and gals don't give 2 hoots about what the client looks like. They are in it for the research and the results; and yes there are real scientists on the other end building the study models and bookworming through the results. They have modules for other research teams as well. The client is available for both Windows and several variants of Linux.

Whilst I may recommend this project, I can't say that it will stop it from happening to those we have with us today. But in time it may help to slow it and reduce it. That's the best I hope for and would still be a great result.

If you need any assistance with the FAD client, just make a post in the forum. There are plenty of members capable of helping out.
