New HD 7730s from Sapphire
New HD 7730s are soon brought out by Sapphire, looking very familiair:
. They come in two models: 2GB GDDR3 and 1Gb GDDR5
For us crunchers it is nice to know that GDDR5 memory offers hardly any advantage over GDDR3 in computing performance (or it must be with a project that makes really use of the higher memory bandwith),
but the GDDR3 memory models has twice the memory of the GDDR5 model and will most probably run on a lesser wattage as well. They may very well be suited to run in CrossfireX with Trinity/Richland and perhaps even with Kaveri, but crunching-wise you are better off combining your APU with a HD 7790 (or better). But in the event that the GDDR3 model should run on 25 Watt (like the new GK208 equipped GT 630) it would be a potent HTPC and/or iTX card, also suited for e.g. Moo! and Collatz.
