Mars Inspiration Competiton - KickOff for MARS18 Team in Stuttgart
Hello everyone,we consider our group as more than just a distributed computing platform. So in addition to Constellation we organize events like SpaceUp Stuttgart or NASA's International Space Applications Challenge. We are now proud to announce our support of the MARS18 Team in Stuttgart. Before they will describe their team, mission and goals in German, we want to summarize it in English. The Mars Society started the "Inspiration Mars" competition based on a plan by the first space tourist and billionaire Dennis Tito. The mission goal is to send two astronauts, a male and female couple, on a mission to Planet Mars, perform a fly-by and return them safely to the Earth. This mission shall start in 2018 due to favorable planetary conditions of the Earth and Mars. This competition is open for teams all over the world and MARS18 is a team currently based in Stuttgart run by students and supporting experts of Universities and companies.AerospaceResearch.net is supporting them with expertise, infrastructure and hopefully computing capacity for their mission trajectory. If you are interested to join, just contact them. German language is an asset, but is not mandatory!
