Yes, that's it. I'd expect much higher values though...
Could you try to install the 13.11 Catalyst drivers?
And in the event that they do not work out, try the Catalyst 13.4 drivers and add the APP SDK kit (You might also want to add that to your existing driver)

The current driver does suppoer the Kaveri chip. A couple of weeks ago, I had to load the beta release of the Catalyst drivers. The current release is 13.12 I believe, quite a bit newer than the 13.4 release.

The 13.4 I mentioned especially as it is the last driver with CAL support!

My HD 7790 ran until yesterday under Windows 8.1 with that driver, that I had to re-install with every start of Windows 8.1 as it would replace it just as quick as I installed it, no matter what I tried to prevent it...
Windows 8.1 decided to crash yesterday and only the removal of the HD 7790 resolved my issues with Windows 8.1 &^%$#MicroSoft

Under 13.4 the reported GFLOP value for the HD 7790 was just over 2 TFlop, later versions report just over 1 TFlop and refused to run several BOINC projects. The by MicroSoft preferred driver couldn't even crunch...&^%$#MicroSoft

Microsoft is one of those companies I've learned to love and hate all in the same breath. I suspect an explanation is not needed.

I chose to avoid Windows 8 and went with Windwows 7 Pro instead. I've seen no compelling reason for Windows 8 on a desktop and will avoid it with a passion if at all possible.

The current Catalyst driver I have loaded is the first iteration that supports the Kaveri processor so I suspect there will be a few updates, tweaks and bug fixes before the dust settles. Since my motherboard automagically overclocked the Kevari 7700 by 900 mhz, I would not be surprised if AMD releases a new top end model in the future.

I am running two Win8.1 systems, one (English) with an Intel i3-2100 plus -until two days ago- two GPUs, a HD 7790 and a GTX 650; the other (Dutch) with a AMD A8-3820 plus a HD 6670 GPU.
When you're past the Metro screen it behaves pretty much like Win7 on the whole. As a -former- 2nd line engineer I'd like to stay in touch with as many current OS-es as possible.

I've found out in the meantime that both the GTX 650 and the HD 7790 are working correctly in the Win8.1 system when performing alone
(and I've also noticed again that the 13.4 driver gives me twice the computing power compared to later drivers for the HD 7790 plus that it has CAL support. For some reason Win8.1 seems to hate that driver though).

I am still a bit surprized by the low GFlop figure, compared to my A8-3870K with it's supporting HD 6670 duo:

But I think it's the OpenCL-only that's hampering you. When my HD 7790 uses a OpenCL-Only driver it's reported GFlop value is 1248 or so, with CAL support added -the 13.4 driver- it goes to 2408....

I do not have the exact numbers with me, I'll try and post them tonight. I've updated the system to the Catalyst 14.4 drivers and the numbers went from 346 Gflops to around 430 something.

I built this machine to be an affordable, middle of the road machine without expectations the graphics would be good enough for gaming. To that end, I am more than satisfied and all of my expectations have been exceeded. The graphics are good enough to run many games at an impressive detail level, but absolutely not max levels. Video performance would be noticeably better if I'd installed memory faster than 1600.

The machine is stable overclocked to 4.2 Ghz, I did have to increase the volage limits in BIOS to 110%.

To be brutally honest, if I'd have had an inkling of what could be done. I'd dfinitely have gone with a heavier dury processor. Having said that, The Kaveri still works encredibly well with streaming applications like "Play On" and "Play Later" and has enough juice to stream HD video to the TV while the wife watches a youtube video.

AMD recommends the Kaveri be paired with the R7 240 or 250 card. From what I've read, the 250 can be had for around 90% and will typically give around a 35% increase in video performance.
