New MEGA prime found!
On 4 July 2014 21:42:34 UTC, PrimeGrid’s Mega Prime Search, through PRPNet, found the Mega Prime:35*2^3587843+1The prime is 1,080,050 digits long and enters Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database ranked 69th overall.The discovery was made by Peter Tibbott (TroubledBunny) of the United Kingdom using an Intel i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz with 8GB RAM running Microsoft Windows 7 Professional. This computer took about 1 hour 24 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR. Peter is a member of the UK BOINC Team.The prime was verified internally.For more details, please see the official announcement.
