Challenge me, or correct me, but don't ask me to die quietly.
It is certainly raising a stir amongst the linux eZines from my browsing over the last week.
Google will need to develop a fair amount of clout among the notebook makers, which seems to be waning a little these days and is something that (Google) they have not yet established.
Moving into the "platform" area is a whole new development in the Google profile and will require a whole new raft of relationships and deals with hardware vendors to achieve compatible platforms and support, as all OS vendors & providers must.
This is definitely not a small challenge for the Google staff.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
