Thanks alot guys. It was alot of fun. !!

    BTW:
It looks like RamJet's the WINNER of a this fine running E8400. I was just keeping the dust blown off of this dual core prize during the race. I never ran it past 3.8 ghz during the race. It will do 4.2 with the right memory and motherboard, and cooling.

    Congrats !!

I hope you enjoy. PM me with your snail mail address, and I'll get it boxed and on its way this week.

It's true Ramjet! You won the prize. That was the surprise I said a while ago.

Mitchell here is the donor of the 2-core prize, and he made me promise not to tell you guys that he was going to participate to show off the prize in first hand, and that if he happened to win the 2-core contest, the prize would go to the second placed man.

So, you have witnessed the raw power of that cpu in the 4 races we had, and mitchell said it can do even more. Imagine what you can do with it!

Get in contact with mitchell by PM, and arrange with him for the delivery of the prize. I will have to ask your addy too, as well as t-shirt color and size, because I'm the sponsor of the 1-core category which you won! The prize will follow soon.

So I don't need to wonder why you had so much points/core/h.

nope, it ran pretty good throughout the whole race idling along at this pace. I didn't do anything to it during the race. It ran a whole lot better than my quad setup. I had to baby sit that puppy quite a bit more being that it was running it more on it's upper limits than the dual core. I had a hard disk failure, boinc manager shutdowns, power issues, heat issues, etc on the quad during the race. I had to run that pretty hard to stay ahead of the top three competitors there. They were running pretty good themselves during the final races at the end.

It definitely took very good running hardware to run at that pace. (ddr3 1600 memory, water cooling and lots of air flow, lots of voltage, a smooth operating motherboard (asus p6t6), and a smooth running minimal OS (ubuntu), etc.
