Just curious.
Why do those stats not line up with karsten's?
example - I am in section 3a on
http://www.rieselprime.org/nplb/NPLB_Scoring.htm
but not in the stats at all on that new page.
There is obviously a difference, so what is it?

Okay, I have pasted in the rpely to my question to Anonymous below regarding AMDave's question regarding the stats: :)
*******************
The stats at www.rieselprime.org are both for manual work, and LLRnet work (there are separate scoring tables for each). It's essentially the "centralized scoring" that you're looking for. However, it is only updated manually, and not very often at that because it's a lot of work for Karsten to keep all his pages updated.
The one at nplb.rieselprime.org is the live, automated stats, for Adam's port 300 server only. (The www.rieselprime.org LLRNet stats, by contrast, include all servers, past and present.) So, the nplb.rieselprime.org stats probably the ones you'll want to watch if what you're interested in is watching rankings and all that.
Sometime in the future we may have similar stats available for the port 5000 server (llrnet.ironbits.net), but until then, port 5000 is only included in the manually-updated www.rieselprime.org LLRnet stats.
Thanks Brucifer.:)
Hey Bruce,
A 48 hour rally is about to begin....
Carlos
Same server Carlos? Or a different one?
Same server. Added 5 cores to the fun...let's find some primes. Thank you.
It's a 48 hour rally this weekend from Friday May 23rd at 7 PM GMT to Sunday May 25th at 7 PM GMT.
NPLB LLRnet server #2 (updated 21.05.2008 18:00 GMT):
maintained by Adam Sutton (AES)
server = "nplb.rieselprime.org"
port = 300
k-range: 401 <= k <= 1001
n-range: 436K-445K
currently processing at n = ~440.7K
Stats: http://nplb.rieselprime.org/stats/stats.php?a=reset
Just to let you guys know one thing.
The stats from the other servers were imported to http://nplb.rieselprime.org/ so now the stats from there represent the stats from the beginning of the NPLB project, this means the real overall standings....
LLRnet server rally 400<k<1001 June 20-22
The rally will run for 48 hours, from 7 PM GMT on June 20th to 7 PM GMT June 22 (i.e. 2 PM CDT or 3 PM EDT).
The server info for all our 400<k<1001 range servers is as follows:
-------------------------------------------
server = "nplb.rieselprime.org"
port = 300
-------------
server = "llrnet.ironbits.net"
port = 400
-------------
server = "llrnet.ironbits.net"
port = 8500
(Note: you may want to stay off this server during the rally, as we are drying it out and thus will not be refilling it. If you plan to crunch on this server, be prepared to watch your client(s) so that you can move them to another server if it runs out of work.)
-------------
server = "nplb.dynip.telepac.pt"
port = 400
-------------------------------------------
More info in here.
Please help to dry the following server:
NPLB LLRnet server #4 (updated 2008/08/08 13:40 GMT):
maintained by Carlos Eduardo (em99010pepe)
Short identification: C443
server = "nplb.dynip.telepac.pt"
port = 443
k-range: 401 <= k <= 1001
n-range: 530.6K-532K
currently processing at n= ~530.6K
Thank you.
Soon, I expect 2 days max, server C443 will have an important job to be done. We, NPLB, are going to LLR 18 k's from n=600k to n=1M, sieve is almost done. Another server will be turned on to help to distribute the candidates. This will be the most important task of NPLB so far.
Big primes are in there from 180,000 digits to 300,000 digits.
As always stats are available in here:
* Mod/AMDave: old link removed *
Team drive #4 for NPLB! This will be a very exciting drive where we will be searching k=115, 149, 175, 179, 185, 199, 215, 227, 229, 239, 241, 257, 265, 271, 289, and 293 from n=600K-1M! Later on, we may add k=47 and 53 to the drive after coordinating an existing reservation. Sieve depth is P=26T.
Two excellent LLRnet servers will be processing a large part of the range. For general info. on setting up and running the servers see this thread. The info. specific to one of the servers that needs to be entered into your llr-clientconfig.txt file is:
#1:
server = nplb.dynip.telepac.pt
port = 443
#2:
server = nplb.ironbits.net
port = 7000
Please report all top-5000 primes with a project ID of 'PrimeSearch' and credit LLR and srsieve software.
Thanks,
Carlos
The stats-page for the race from 2008/09/05 is online now: http://www.rieselprime.org/nplb/NPLB...080905_48h.htm
C443 needs a boost, thank you.
New stats page:
http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=proj&proj=nplb
Hey well done Spikey Richie. :)
nope.
not if you have a look at the team pages via link that you posted.
seems there is a stats parsing issue that needs fixing. :)
I'll log it it with bok.
[edit]Done[/edit]
Heh. So it does.
Seems I have a vested interest in getting this one fixed then.
Sorry.
Please post bugs in here.
The bug is logged, but it doesn't really qualify as a "bug" because the data tables are still under development:
http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthr...913#post127913
We need to apply some patience as the data is not ready for stats yet.
There are still some design changes to make to enable full reporting.
Work is in progress.
Here's another simple way to install llrnet on 2, 4 and 8 cores machine.
The default server is on port 5000 but you also have work on port 400. To change the port just edit llr-clientconfig.txt for all cores and look for the server location. Another thing you have to edit is your nickname, please look for the line username = "TeamName_nickname".
Extract the zip, for 2 and 4, versions and unrar for the 8 version. To run the client you just need to run llrnet.exe respectively for each core.Quote:

All clients will run in the system tray. If you right click on the icon and if you choose "New GUI Window" you will get remotely control of all cores and see their progress.
Hope this helps a bit.
Carlos
Drive 3 was completed a few days ago and now we are concentrated on finishing Drive 1 until the end of the year.
Current servers with work:
#1
server = "nplb.ironbits.net"
port = 400
#2:
server = "nplb.dynip.telepac.pt"
port = 443
#3
server = "nplb-gb1.no-ip.org"
port = 4000
Sorry ... busy with 3x+1 for a little while longer. :icon_wink:
One of my computers gives this error:
The server refused your new result :
either someone else computed it already,
either the server is now configured to
work on other numbers.
Yes I know it doesn't make sense, the second "either" should be an "or".
Maybe I'll try another port number overnight to see if it makes any difference.
^^^ Bump. :( :help:
Brucifer it looks like you have increased your rate. Maybe the next stats update will show if I have met your recent "check" and maybe even "raised the stakes".:)
you may have the remnants of an old dead range in your workfile or progress file
stop the client
delete the workfile.txt and any zXXXXX.xxx (whatever it is it starts with 'z')
create a blank file called workfile.txt (it may even do this itself)
start the client again
Thanks Dave. So far so good. It worked for the first task. I'll see how it goes overnight.
Mine have been working just fine on this BBQ race this weekend. :icon_mrgreen:
If you want, I can send you the linux batch llrnet that I use. Been pretty solid and allows you to set the cache which has worked fine for me all the way from 3 units up to 100.
I've been running one instance of the client on an old P4, using the freebsd client. It's slow but I've not seen any problems.
It's good that people take different tracks on all this. When you get to the bottom of it all, everything relates to mathematics in one way or another. Just a huge huge field. And advances and understanding in one area helps the overall understanding of what makes all this stuff in this world tick. And while not readily apparent to many, it all does contribute to our understanding and further advancement. When you look way back in history, what were they working on? Mathematics.... and here we are still working away. :) And if the human race manages to stay alive, way on down the road they will still be working on understanding mathematics. :)
We did have a good weekend at NPLB though on the Free-DC BBQ rally. Was a real good turn out and a LOT of work was completed for the NPLB project. Take a gander over there... Our own AMDave has put in a lot of work with BOK and IronBits on getting a good set of stats for the project. Quite impressive indeed! While AMD_Users placed last in the teams competing, we were there and we contributed. No it's not boinc :) however it was a fun gathering of some of the hard core DC world folks. :)
Are we still focussed on the port 8000 or should I change my llr-clientconfig.txt to port=9000 or something else?
Currently reads:
server = "nplb.ironbits.net"
port = 8000
I moved to port 9000 mainly because I only have a couple of older machines running the client. Port 8000 is fine if you are running a newer machine and/or interested in finding primes that will be qualified for the Top 5000 Prime Pages..plus they score higher in the stats race.
OK jamers thanks for the info.
Edit: AMDave notified me that I found my first prime in the No Prime Left Behind project last night. Gary Barnes also e-mailed me today saying it qualifies for an entry in the Top 5000 Primes List.
woot!
The lucky computer is my old Shuttle XPC box - a P4 3.2 Prescott.
Congrats Vaughan!!! :icon_mrgreen:
I've got a couple of my old slow systems on port 9000. Good place for them. And who knows, maybe I'll get lucky like some other person.................. LOL
Has anyone managed to get NPLB to work properly under Windows 7 beta release 7000? I guess its like Vista 64. When I tried it today a message popped up saying it was a 32 bit application and Win7 wouldn't allow it to run. Maybe I have to let it run in compatibility mode?
Flatlander has it going in Win7, responded to your post in the NPLB forum, but no mention of the release number.
