Thats a very good writeup, but I'm curios about the "Good New" section. Where are the 1000+ cores that you refer to? If they have not yet already been committed, how can you say that they could be commited and are held in reserve?

I'm of the opinion that we should throw everything we have at it now, to chew up the rest of the available wu's instead of holding things in reserve.

No kidding. I was under the impression that the team needed all the help it could get, so I've been pulling cores from projects I consider far more important to humanity (D2OL and Proteins) to help the team lock in a first place. I've been taking the risk of catching hell at work for this by borging other people's work computers. While I've seen some heavy hitters on the AMD team who are still crunching other projects I figure that is their choice, but if I'm not really needed on the Pi Segment project because some members have some massive reserve of cores I'd be more than happy to move my equipment back to the important projects.

Despite what the liberal media would have everyone think, some of us know the difference between "want" and "need". Now, do you "want" help, or, do you "need" help?
