ReactOS shows off SMP support in open-source take on Windows

ReactOS, the open-source project for creating a binary-compatible drop-in replacement for Windows, has crossed a crucial milestone with a first look at symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) support.

The developers are clear: this is a work in progress and not yet in the trunk, but persuading the operating system to run in SMP mode to the point where one can get to the familiar face of the Windows XP Task Manager is an impressive achievement.

This is an impressive development but I am quietly more fond of Arch based distros these days
If ReactOS can get it working, so can all the other distros.
It is the open-source way. ;)

I have developed into a Debian fan myself due to a constant exposure to Raspbian/Raspberry Pi OS, Linaro (Cubieboards and ASUS Tinker board), BeagleBone Debian (BeagleBone Black), Twister OS (Armbian-based OS for my new Rock Pi 4B+), Armbian (other SBCs) and of course Ubuntu/Xubunte/Lubuntu/Mint for my x86 systems.

    BTW: ReactOS is not Linux-based.
